Night Fishing

After school on Friday I left school to go help my good friend to go work on his boat at Harbour House marina. I got to the marina at 2:00pm and started helping my friends put the shaft back in the boat. It didn't take us too long so we finished at around 5:00pm and when I got home my dad told me to get some conch shells out for his friend that was going night fishing. when my dads friend showed up he never had anyone to go with so he asked if I wanted to come and I said yes so I jumped in the truck and we left to go launch the boat. we had a good spot that we wanted to go to before it got dark so we headed straight to the spot right away. It took us about ten minutes to find the spot but when we did we threw out boat anchors.We had been at the spot for five minutes and my land went of so I pulled back and started reeling him in, when he got to the side of the boat I could see that it was a good size mutton snapper. the fish eventually stop biting so we pulled the anchors and went outside the reef for some more action. It took us about twenty minutes to get outside but when we did we found a moron and tide the boat of, I tide my line up with a hook and a sinker and sent it down, as it hit the bottom something big took of with my line so I pulled back and started to pull him in. when he got next to the boat and we shined the light on him it was a very big mutton snapper about ten pounds. after we caught the big mutton snapper we went straight home and went to sleep.  

Sunday Adventures

When Sunday comes around everybody gets their boat ready to hit the water. yesterday it was very calm and I wanted to go out in the boat so I called my friend Zack to come pick me up in his boat and within ten minutes he was by my dock. I had just got home from church and my dad and my mom had to go to work so they said I could go fishing for a little bit. It was the perfect weather to go fishing so my friend and I rigged up some bait got all the fishing gear on the boat and headed out, as we got to the top of the canal my cousin Frank called me and asked if I could help him launch his boat because he was going to rum point so I went to the boat launch and helped him. We had two boats and about 7 people but Franks boat wasn't running good so the people on his boat came on mine and we both headed to rum point, with all the people in franks boat it wasn't going anywhere but eventually we got to rum point and I didn't feel like going fishing again so we just chilled in the water for a little bit. the sun was staring to go down so we all got back on the boat and headed in, it was good day and I met some new friend that are pretty cool.  

Famous Fishing Blog

I have always loved fishing and when I saw this blog on deep sea fishing in the Florida keys it really caught my intention. when I saw that the topic was was on Mahi and tunas I was very eager to see what they were talking about. the thing I really like was that as they started fishing there where catching plenty of big Mahi of some birds that they spotted and they also found a big drift which was full of small bait fish and Mahi. The thing I didn't really like about this is that they where catching some pretty small and they still kept them. The thing that is so cool about deep see fishing is that when you hook up and o fish you never know what it is until it gets close to the boat, but have the time they never make it close to the boat without getting off the hook. In Florida that ride to get in deep enough water to fish for Mahi and tuna you have to drive for hours to get in the deeps sea.

Tin Can

last week my friend told me that he wanted to put my 15 hp engine  on his small aluminum boat that weighs about 50 pounds, I couldn't say no because it sounded like a fun idea. as we got of school on Friday we went straight to his house to get the boat but we didn't have a trailer so we put it in the back of the truck and tied in down. when we got to my house we picked the boat up and threw it in the canal,put my engine on and she was ready to go. It wind was blowing at 20knots and we knew it was to rough to go out in this small little boat but we still did it, we stayed in the mangrove for as long as we could but once we made it across the point it was rough as hell, even with all three of us on this small little boat it was jumping out of the water. when we finally made it to rum point the boat was full of water so we pulled it up on the shallow to drain it. It was about 4:30 and my dad said not to be out much longer so we decided to go fishing for a little while, we didn't know how bad it was outside the reef until we got out there the back of the boat kept going under the water so we put more weight up front but all that did was make the front go under. when we saw the boat wasn't holding up to well in the rough water we turned back in and went full throttle home.

Easter Time Madness

Easter is my favorite time of the year because for two whole weeks everybody that owns in boat in Cayman is out on the water. if you know me personally you will already know that my favorite thing in the world is to be out on the water in my boat,the thing that is so special about Easter is the all my friend are out there on their wave runner or boat and everyone is just having fun and doing there thing. When night time comes everybody is either fishing of the land or out in their boat fishing all night for mutton snappers and there is not one thing to worry about beside the ice on your fish melting or not being able to fit all your fish in the cooler. In the morning before the sun comes out we have already picked one boat to go fishing in out of the hundreds of boats to choose from and we have or lines in the water ready to catch some Wahoo,if by 10;00am we haven't caught any Wahoo we head straight north looking for Mahi.

why I love to fish

Fishing is all I do I live on an island surrounded by water so there's really nothing else to do I even take my boat to school. During the summer I work on my cousins 55 ft ocean fishing yacht,I make a pretty good amount of money too. My favourite fish to catch and eat would probably be a Mahi Mahi. When I was younger I used to go fishing with my dad in east end and catch yellow fin tuna witch I still love to today. Most of my friends have boats so on the weekend we all throw some money in for fuel and head out in hopes of catching plenty big fish. When i was growing up I always used to go fishing on my little boat inside the reef for barracudas, jacks, snapper and many more small creatures. As I grew up and got older I started to learn a lot more about deep sea fishing, but many people don't actually know how to deep sea fish because if your bait isn't swimming properly you will never catch anything. One thing I was always thought as a kid is that when you’re on a boat you have to be extra careful because so many bad things can happen so fast on the water. It took me a pretty long time to learn how to fish for deep sea fish but it’s what I was born to do.

When your brother is crazy

Over the weekend my best friend Dylan got his 3

9ft midnight expressed fix with brand new 250s evinrude etec motors. the boat has been sitting down for at least a year and she was pretty dirty from being behind the mechanics house in the bush getting full with leaves. Friday when I got out school I went straight to Matts house and got to work, when I first looked at the boat it didn't look that dirty so I asked Dylan what he wanted me to do. The first thing he said I had to do was scrub the whole boat from top to bottom, it took us all day to do it but we got it done and she was shining. the very next day as I got up I had about ten missed calls from Dylan and guess what he want, he told me to hurry the hell up and come help him and I said what do we need to do bro I thought we were done, then he yelled at me again and said that we need to polish the whole boat and then scrub it again. I can’t say no to Dylan because he is my brother so I got up and went back to Matts to help Dylan. When I got there he had the buffer and everything ready to start for the day, he told me that we had to polish the whole topside of the boat, I grabbed the bag of rags and starting spreading the polish. If you don't already know that when your polishing a boat you have to go slow and be very careful. Four hours later we finally finished polishing the boat so I sat down to have a little break, as I sat down Dylan told me that I had to scrub the boat again and then we had to polish the hull, at this point I was kind of tired so I told Dylan that I was sorry but I can’t work no more so he yelled at me for a couple of minutes and then got up and finished cleaning the boat.
