Conch Season

The best part of the month is Christmas time because Conch season and Lobster season are open.  Every year since I was five I was out every Conch season catching tuns of Conch with my dad of east end. This year I have both of my boat working so every weekend I will be out on the water catch anything that I can catch. Back in the old days when Cayman was just growing anywhere you went for a snorkel you would run into huge school's of Conch and Lobster. As Cayman started to grow more people started poaching more Conch and Lobster's. That's why every Conch and Lobster season is so special to people in Cayman  because everyone eat them or sells them to make money and for this the numbers of Conchs and Lobsters are starting to die out quick. The law on Conch and Lobsters about twenty years ago was unlimited amount of Conch and Lobsters that you can catch, now it is five Conch per person and ten Conch per boat, for Lobsters it is three Lobsters per person and six Lobsters per boat.

Half term break

Over the half term break I went to Miami to visit my brother. Where my brother live is called Pembroke pines it is very peaceful, clean and generally a nice place to be, it is just south of Miami. The day that I got to Miami my brother and I went fishing so when drove down the high looking for a pond to fish in. We turned down a road that had a long canal off water going down the side of the road. There was people across the canal that where fishing,so i knew that there had to be something here that we could catch so i looked in the tackle bow and got the best lure. It was my first cast and I was pulling it in slow hoping for a bite. As the lure was about to jump out of the water a nice size fish came up out of nowhere and grabbed the line and took of. I was shocked cause it all happen so fast but i just started reeling and he was taking plenty line. When he got closed to the edge I gave the rod to my brother then grabbed the line and flung the fish in the grass and took the hook out. I was so happy because I have been waiting for a long time to catch one of these fish and it was defiantly rare that you catch this type of fish, and it was called a peacock bass.I wanted to eat him but we only had caught one so we let him go.
